FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA / KFTA) – WestArk RSVP partners with Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly to provide free tax preparation assistance.
Services will begin February 12th and will last through April 15th at the RSVP Center at 401 North 13th Street.
Volunteers offer free tax return preparation for families with income below $ 57,000 or for seniors 60 and older with no income limit. They are trained to help prepare income tax returns for Arkansas and Oklahoma. 2017-2019 previous year returns and revised returns will be available starting March 22nd.
The form, which must be completed before tax is drawn up, is available in plastic containers outside the RSVP center. A flyer is attached to the form, which explains the opening times, operating hours and a list of required documents and other important information.
