Valenzuela City offers tax breaks and incentives for businesses on Fatima Avenue
By Khriscielle Yalao
The government of the city of Valenzuela passed an ordinance on Friday, December 17th, granting a year-long tax break and incentive to companies and businesses that want to operate on Fatima Avenue in Barangay Marulas next year.
The measure, written by Councilor Chiqui Carreon, was passed to encourage individuals and businesses to start businesses in the Fatima Avenue residential zone, which is expected to open in 2022.
Businesses only pay 50% of the city’s original business license fee.
Local business taxes and annual building inspection fees are free all year round, with the exception of government fees and charges, according to the city government.
Businesses won’t see property tax rescheduling year round.
The city government stressed that companies and businesses wishing to file an application must meet the minimum requirements of the Fire Act of the Philippines and follow standard health protocols against COVID-19.
Since October 2021, the local government has been redeveloping Fatima Avenue into a pedestrian-friendly and attractive area for locals and tourists.
