Two Senate committee chiefs are looking for ways to collect taxes on companies that pay less than $ 15 an hour. This is part of a new strategy to include President Joe Biden’s drive to raise the minimum wage to this level on his Covid-19 auxiliary bill.
Senate Budget Committee Chairman Bernie Sanders and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden said Thursday evening they would consider strategy after a heavy blow was dealt to prospects of including a wage increase in the bailout package.
