WASHINGTON, DC – The NMPA SONGS Foundation (Supporting Our Next Generation of Songwriters) announced today that it will continue its partnership with H&R Block to once again offer free tax preparation services to songwriters in the Nashville area this spring. The program is part of his effort to provide direct support to working musicians through the pandemic and beyond.
“We encourage songwriters to take advantage of free tax preparation this year because we know so many of them are suffering. The pandemic has weighed heavily on creators and we hope the foundation can alleviate it. We thank H&R Block for their partnership and share our commitment to helping the Nashville songwriting community, ”said David Israelite, President of the NMPA SONGS Foundation.

About the foundation: Established in 2015, the NMPA SONGS Foundation supports songwriters by funding educational programs, direct financial assistance and services, and partnering with like-minded institutions and organizations to improve opportunities for music makers. The foundation has provided over $ 250,000 in funding, grants, and scholarships to universities including Belmont, LA College of Music, MTSU, and Howard University.
