FILE – This photo taken on Wednesday February 13, 2019 shows part of a 1040 federal tax form that was printed on the Internal Revenue Service website. On Friday, August 21, 2020, The Associated Press reported online reports falsely claiming that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s tax rate rose from 12% to 25% for a family making $ 75,000 a year % would increase. A current federal tax rate of 12% applies to families with incomes up to $ 80,000 or individuals with incomes up to $ 40,000. That would still apply under Biden, who publicly vowed not to levy taxes on anyone making less than $ 400,000. (Associated Press)
