The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has announced a tax incentive program that provides full penalty exemption and significant relief for Sindh Sales Tax (SST) defaulters on paying the late payment surcharge. The move takes place after the board of directors has held meetings with various chambers of commerce and taxpayers’ associations. In a statement on Monday, the SRB approved a proposal for a tax incentive program that would abolish penalties. In addition, taxpayers and defaulting persons are granted a substantial exemption from the obligation to pay late payment, provided that they deposit the main amount of the outstanding Sindh sales tax in June 2021. In the first 12 days of June 2021, the tax incentive program will be fully exempt from the contractual penalty and late payment surcharge if the main amount of the arrears is deposited between June 1st and June 12th.
