Sheridan County Sheriff Allen Thompson recommends residents ensure their tax preparation records are kept secure.
During his appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, the Sheridan County Sheriff gave listeners some tips on how to protect themselves this tax season. Allen informed residents that scammers will use every method possible to contact residents seeking personal information, including traditional postal services.
He also reminded people to keep their personal financial information in a safe place, along with any tax returns.

If residents receive any tax information in the mail that seems questionable, notify the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office at 672-3455 or bring the documents to the Sheridan office at 54 West 13th St.
