Punjab ends token tax relief for 10-year-old cars.
According to PakWheels, the provincial assembly has passed a proposal stating that older cars cause more pollution, so the easing of the token tax payment for these vehicles must end.
In addition, the Punjab government will not only collect the current tax, but also the previously exempt token tax.
It’s worth noting that the Punjab government had asked consumers to pay their token tax by July 1, 2021, otherwise their vehicles could be confiscated, the owner arrested and a heavy fine imposed. There is also the possibility that the registration of the vehicle will be canceled.
