Boeing starts the new year with 26 jet deliveries and four orders
Boeing delivered 26 upgraded aircraft in January, encouraged by clearing the 737 MAX jet to fly again after a 20-month ban. Boeing also received four new orders for its 747-8 freighters. MAX deliveries are seen as central to Boeing’s financial recovery in 2021 after the demand for larger, more profitable wide-body jets fell sharply due to the coronavirus crisis that contributed to the company’s troubles last year. Boeing, which posts revenue based on actual deliveries, announced it had handed over 21,737 MAX jets last month, as well as a P8 military aircraft and four wide-body aircraft other than the 787 Dreamliner that had no deliveries for the third month in a row.
