COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – House Republicans have proposed a 2% cut in income tax in their version of the state budget.
Legislature says taxes will total $ 380 million over a two-year period beginning July 1.
The plan unveiled on Tuesday also includes a revision of the way the state funds schools to make them more equitable.
The nearly $ 2 billion proposal stipulates that the changes will take place over the next six years and that no school district will lose funding during the phase-in phase.
The budget also includes previously announced $ 155 million in grants to help industries negatively affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
