Virtual tour to Devil’s Lake
This is a one-of-a-kind, virtual tour of Wisconsin’s most popular State Park, Devil’s Lake – a place with an interesting geological and historical story – on Wednesday, February 24th at 1:30 p.m. Participants will be taken on a virtual hike with videos, photos and live commentary from UW Geology Department staff.
As part of this adventure there is a scavenger hunt and the opportunity to share memories of visiting this legendary park. Register by February 22nd by phone, email or online.
Go on a time travel safari to old Wisconsin with the UW-Madison Geology Museum! You will see what Wisconsin looked like 450 million years ago when it was covered by a shallow tropical sea. Participants will learn about the rocks in southern Wisconsin, the fossils found in them, and what those creatures would have looked like during their lifetime.
Come and visit us on Wednesday, March 3rd at 12 noon for this informative, entertaining and virtual presentation. Register by March 1st by phone, email or online.
If you need to swap puzzles, great! If not, you can solve a puzzle or two on Thursday, February 18, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The tables are at a reasonable distance in the building. If you’d rather drive up, call and the staff will have items ready for pickup on the side of the road.
Call before participating in any personal activity. The COVID variant of the park may require seniors to close, activities may be stopped at the last minute, or employees may have to work from home. If you are registered for an activity, you will be notified by email or called when the center closes that day.
The centre’s online registration page is https://schedulesplus.com/wwtr/kiosk/. Seniors can register for activities or courses and make payments there. All virtual classes are now on this website on the “Virtual Center” button. Employees can also register by phone or email if no payment is made.
