INDIO, CA – Seniors tax assistance will continue to be offered at the Indio Senior Center this year, although it will be via a “drop-off” service due to the coronavirus, it was announced on Monday.
AARP volunteer tax professionals will assist seniors free of charge from March 1st. Appointments are required.
“We are pleased to continue to offer this free service to our seniors despite the restrictions caused by the pandemic,” said Argelia Jimenez, director of the senior center. “We hope people will take the opportunity that a caring and concerned professional will ease the stress of filing their taxes this year.”
Appointments can now be made from Monday to Friday, starting March 1st, between 12.40 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. Seniors are asked to show up within a 20-minute window to hand in their documents. Appointments can be made by phone at 760-391-4170 or here.
