FREEPORT – Illinois provides free assistance to low- to middle-income families and elderly Illinois residents who need assistance filing their 2020 individual income tax.
Taxes are due April 15th.
The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly programs provide tax assistance to those earning $ 57,000 or less, those with disabilities, limited English-speaking taxpayers, and those aged 60 and over.
The IRS sponsored Ladder Up Virtual Tax Assistance program provides basic tax return preparation for low income and senior taxpayers.
