Governor Burgum indicators North Dakota Earnings Tax Reduction Act

BISMARCK, ND (KVRR) – There are income tax breaks for around half a million North Dakotans.

Governor Doug Burgum signs bill that will provide an estimated $ 211 million in income tax relief over the next two years.

The law will abolish state income tax legislation for around 300,000 people and partially relieve a further 200,000 taxpayers.

The relief comes in the form of an income tax credit of up to $ 350 per year for individuals or $ 700 per year for individuals filing a joint declaration of marriage for the 2021 and 2022 tax years.

The legislature has also voted to exempt social security benefits from state income tax.
