BERLIN, October 8 (Reuters) – Federal Finance Minister Olaf Scholz on Friday welcomed an agreement between leading global economies on a minimum corporate tax rate of 15%.
“Today we have taken another important step towards more fair taxation. The OECD countries today agreed on the most important parameters for global minimum taxation, ”said Scholz in an email to Reuters.
“At the same time, other states have joined the reform, which is a strong sign of multilateralism,” he added. “In particular, the unification of the states of the European Union is a great success and will ensure that the reform can be implemented quickly across the EU.” (Reporting by Christian Kraemer Writing by Paul Carrel Editing by Tom Sims)
