Free tax help is available to Wisconsin residents at the Superior Public Library, 1530 Tower Ave. through the TaxAide program. Certified, experienced volunteers prepare personal tax returns every Monday and Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. from February 7th to April 7th.
The TaxAide program, supported by AARP, can prepare federal and Wisconsin taxes, Wisconsin homesteads and Minnesota income for Wisconsin residents. All taxes are filed electronically. There is no income or age limit.
Taxpayers can register with TaxAide volunteers for free filing assistance at the library from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on January 20, 26, and 31 and 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on January 27.
Library staff cannot answer tax questions or enroll taxpayers in the free prep services. Participants must register for tax assistance in advance.
