Impact America offers free filing and virtual tax preparation options through its SaveFirst program.
HUNTSVILLE, Ala – Tax season is just around the corner and nonprofit Impact America is making sure people in need have access to free online tax preparation.
This year they are enabling both drop-off and virtual options through their SaveFirst program. The free service is available to households with an annual income of up to $ 57,000.
If you want to use the virtual service, you only have to answer a few questions, upload photos of your tax forms and IRS-certified volunteers will help you with the preparation of the tax return.

People who want to submit their forms must make a 20-minute, low-contact appointment for virtual preparation.
Channing Bethke, Impact America’s National Program Director, said, “We are essentially using that 20-minute appointment time to collect taxpayers’ tax documents, to scan copies of all of their forms to answer any questions they might have and them to ask about their tax situation. “
With the pandemic affecting countless families financially, it is more important than ever that hard-working families get the greatest tax refund possible, according to Impact America.
The 2021 tax filing season begins Friday, February 12, but Impact America can begin preparing tax returns now. The non-profit organization encourages people to make an appointment.
