Lincoln County, Missouri – VITA Tax Preparation will replace AARP Tax Aide in Lincoln County.
VITA is an IRS-certified tax service offered to seniors and low-income residents in Lincoln County. All volunteers are trained in conjunction with the IRS and are able to solve most of the problems faced by their clients.
Appointments are required. To schedule an appointment, call Vicky at (636) 356-1499 Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Participants must bring a copy of last year’s tax return, social security card, photo ID, children’s social security cards, any W-2, 1099, and any other documents needed to complete their tax returns.
Tax prep will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. February 1 through April 8 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Troy, located at 500 Highway J. Prior to your arrival, you must pick up a tax prep pack from the Lincoln County Council on Aging or Troy City Hall.
Due to Coronavirus and diverging concerns this will be a contactless tax service again this year. Taxes are prepared while you wait in your car. Full instructions describing what you need to do and the information you need to provide will be included in your tax pack.
