Treasury Secretary Paschal Donohoe spoke to US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen about the current OECD process to reform the global corporate tax regime.
Mr. Donohoe described the call as “constructive” and said he and Ms. Yellen had agreed to keep in touch.
“The ultimate goal for all of us is to reach a just agreement that provides security and stability within the international tax framework. Ireland will continue to work towards this goal, ”said Donohoe.
The US Treasury Department said Ms. Yellen called Yellen in recognition of Ireland’s constructive involvement in the OECD negotiations.
“Secretary Yellen emphasized the goal of stabilizing the international tax system and stopping the race to the bottom through this unique opportunity offered by the OECD Inclusive Framework,” it said in a statement.
