Dealmaking business The GS Verde Group has hired an experienced corporate tax specialist to manage the tax department of the corporate finance-led company.
Tax Advisor Fleur Riggs was named Head of Taxes after holding a number of senior tax advisor roles throughout her career, including Bishop Fleming’s Bristol and South West offices.
The tax department focuses on the tax planning, approvals and reliefs that are available to a company and its shareholders during a corporate transaction. The special focus of this team within the GS Verde Group is on tax planning for mergers & acquisitions and project financing.
“Having the right structure, clearance or planning for taxes is an important part of any corporate finance project,” said Fleur Riggs. “The cost of not fully accounting for the tax implications of a transaction can be costly and seriously undermine shareholder value in any deal.”
Nigel Greenaway, CEO of GS Verde Group, said: “Our business structure is to provide a full service team capable of advising on all aspects of a corporate transaction and tax considerations are key at the beginning of any project.
“Specialized tax advice on M&A projects is an important part of being able to advise our clients comprehensively and appropriately.”
